National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ)

The National Conference for Community and Justice, founded in 1927 as the National Conference of Christians and Jews, is a human relations organization dedicated to fighting bias, bigotry, and racism in America. The NCCJ promotes understanding and respect among all races, religions, and cultures through advocacy, conflict resolution, and education.

The organization's objectives are primarily achieved through two programs: Anytown® and Manytown®.

Anytown® student delegates represent the wide diversity of New Jersey, with a variety of racial, economic, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. Together, they form a rainbow of colors and experiences that provide the perfect foundation for the learning that will occur at Anytown®. High schools and other sponsoring agencies select teams of five delegates, based on interest, motivation, and leadership abilities. With the assistance of Anytown® staff, the delegates will be required to design an Action Plan to implement in their school or community. The student-designed plans are significant because the delegates can actively involve other students from their schools.

Manytown® is a one-day school-based youth leadership program. Former Anytown® delegates and other students from urban, suburban, rural, and coastal communities throughout New Jersey come together to share, discuss, and learn about a variety of student-selected topics in a culturally and racially diverse learning environment. The program is designed to raise student awareness and interest in issues of diversity and prejudice reduction.
