GARDEN STATE COACHES CLINIC

The list of clinicians for the 2010 Garden State Coaches Clinic has been announced. Hall of Famer Hubie Brown, a staple of the clinic since its inception 6 years ago, will be joined in St. Benedict's Dalton Gymnasium by the likes of Boston Celtics assistant coach Kevin Eastman, ESPN analyst Fran Fraschilla and former NBA Coach of the Year Mike Fratello. To sign up for the event, please fill out this registration form and return it to the address located at the bottom of the form. The list includes:

Kevin Eastman - Boston Celtics, Assistant Coach
8:30am - 9:30am "Defense"

22 years as a an assistant or head college basketball coach
Former Nike Basketball National Director of Player Development for the nation's elite College and High School Players
Currently directs the prestigious Nike Basketball Academies

   

Mike Fratello - TNT Commentator & Former NBA Head Coach
9:30am - 10:30am "Special Situations & Drills"

Served as head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies (2004-2006), Cleveland Cavaliers (1993-1999) and Atlanta Hawks (1983-1990)
Career coaching record of 666-542, ranks #17 on the NBA all-time wins list; teams have qualified for the playoffs in 11 of 16 seasons
1985-1986 NBA Coach of the Year

   

Fran Fraschilla - ESPN College Basketball Analyst

D.C. RECEPTION TO BE HELD IN CONJUCTION WITH SOCCER GAME

St. Benedict's Alumni Office is sponsoring an Alumni Brunch/Reception for family and friends on Saturday, Sept. 4 in the Washington, D.C. area. The reception, which is being held at the home of Pat and Kevin '64 Moore in Alexandria, Va., will coincide with the Gray Bees' Labor Day Soccer Tournament in the area. Fr. Edwin will be on hand at the reception to give an overview of St. Benedict's today, while new soccer coach Jim Wandling will also be making an appearance with a few of his players.

The reception will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Moore residence, 6 Potomac Ct., Alexandria, Va. 22314. The soccer team will be playing later that day in the Labor Day Tournament at Northeast High School in Pasadena, Md. (time and opponent to be determined). Wandling's club opens the tournament against the host school a day earlier at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 3.

COME CELEBRATE THE 45TH REUNION WITH THE CLASS OF '65

The Class of '65 is holding its 45th Reunion on Saturday, Sept. 18. The celebration will take place from 1-4 p.m. on the veranda off St. Benedict's Dining Hall. Aside from some excellent food and drink, Fr. Edwin, O.S.B. '63, along with a few of the current students, will be on hand to show the school to those of us who haven't seen the campus in awhile and to share the accomplishments of the young men who are currently at "The Hive."
