Students shall dress in accordance with the following code.
The Headmaster and Senior Group Leader will address questions
about the acceptability of dress and reserve the right to make
changes to the Dress Code as necessary at any time.
- Students shall not wear the following while
inside any school building.
- Head wear, such as: hats, wave caps,
skullies, headbands, earmuffs, etc.
- Gloves
- Beepers, pagers, or cell phones (anywhere
on the property - cell phones may be used after school in the front lobby only)
- Students may wear jewelry under the following
conditions:
- Only one stud-earring may be worn at
any time (earrings with loops or more than one stud
shall be unacceptable).
- Only one chain of a necklace type
may be permitted. Any chain worn must be tucked inside
the collar.
- Beginners and Members (FY, UD, SY) must wear a school issued
jumper (hoodie) each day.
- Beginners shall wear Maroon. Members shall wear Black.
- Any shirts worn under the jumpers must be tucked in.
- Nothing may be worn on top of the jumper while in the building.
- Lower Division students must wear shirt and tie.
- Shirts must be proper fitting and tucked into the pants at all times.
- Ties shall be properly tied and the knot shall be at the collar
as appropriate.
- Students shall wear dress or casual slacks. A belt shall
be worn at all times.
- Pants shall fit properly and be worn with
the belt at the waist. Pants shall not sag or hang
down.
- The slacks shall not be cut or ripped in
any way to accommodate current fashion or footwear.
- Slacks may not have extra pockets, loops,
or hooks. (Cargo pants / jeans are not acceptable)
- Pants with elastic/drawstring waist are not
acceptable.
- Students shall wear shoes under the following
conditions:
- Shoes that are below the ankle are
acceptable except: slippers or "walking/running
shoes." Shoes must be flat with no more than a
one-inch heel. (Sandals may be allowed during warmer
months at the discretion of the Senior Group Leader.)
- Shoes must be tied completely (through all
eyelets) at all times.
NB: Diesel’s, Steve Madden’s, and other shoes that could be
mistaken for sneakers or walking/running/bowling shoes, and
boots of any kind are not acceptable.
- Students must wear a St. Benedict's Prep gym uniform for
all Phys. Ed classes.
Students may only wear Chuck Taylor sneakers for all
school functions (exceptions may be granted to athletes
during their practices and competitions).
