Your introduction to The Hive is the Open House. Three in-person Open Houses are scheduled for this fall, Saturday, October 11, November 15 and December 6. You can register using our online form.

Prospective students and families are encouraged to attend because:

• It is the best way to experience The Hive, meet faculty and students, and tour the Property.

• Director of Admissions Mario Gallo will review the application and financial aid process, as well as important deadlines during this event. He and Associate Director of Admissions Analisa Branco will also address the Frequently Asked Questions to help prospective families manage the process.

St. Benedict's Prep accepts online applications. First you will need to create an account. Once your account is verified, and you sign-in, follow the prompts to fill out the online application.

• The Application for Admission must be completed by the applicant with parents' and teachers' help.
• The personal essay is very important; it should be written exclusively by the candidate.

Applying for 2025-2026

Candidates who completed the application and submitted all school documents by the December 31 deadline will receive a decision by January 13. Applications submitted after the December 31 deadline will be considered as space allows on a rolling admission basis.

Once prospective students attend an Open House, they are welcome to spend a school day at St. Benedict’s Prep.In addition to the personal interview,  Gray Bee for a Day is your opportunity to attend Morning Convocation, experience the Group System and get a firsthand look at how student-leaders run the School.

If you are interested in spending the day at The Hive, you will receive an email with further details and instructions from the Admissions Office, shortly after attending an Open House.

You can't be invisible at St. Benedict's Prep and a personal interview is required for admission. The interview is typically conducted when students attend Gray Bee for a Day. Interviews are conducted  by a faculty member, alumnus, parent, or member of our Senior Class to understand the student's strengths, challenges and interest in becoming a member of The Hive.

If you have registered for a Fall Open House, you may sign up for Gray Bee for a Day. 

Along with the completed online application, the candidate’s current school must send:

• Transcripts of the last two years in school, plus the most recent report card.
• Two Letters of Recommendation from Teachers (English, Science, History, Math, Religion). If a St. Benedict's student, parent, alumnus, or friend knows the candidate personally, that person may be asked to write a letter of nomination for the candidate.

Many Catholic high schools require the High School Placement Test HSPT®. St. Benedict's Prep does not require the placement test for admission.

The application deadline is December 31.

It is the candidate’s own responsibility to ensure that the admissions office has received a completed application, including checking with teachers to be sure that the school has sent all required materials before the deadline. The admissions committee cannot make a decision on an incomplete application, no matter who is at fault.

St. Benedict's Prep strives to make The Hive as affordable as possible to families. 85% of Middle and Prep Division students receive financial aid totaling $6 million annually.

You can apply for financial aid once your student receives his or her letter of admission. Your admissions packet will include instructions, along with a link to complete the application for financial assistance. The FACTS tuition management service, an independent party, evaluates the application and makes a report to St. Benedict's. The School's Financial Aid office makes the final decision and notifies families of the amount of aid that will be offered.

St. Benedict's Prep reviews every financial aid application received individually.

Once you’ve been accepted to St. Benedict’s Prep, there are just a few important steps left before you officially join our community.

1. Register in FACTS

All families are required to create an account and register in FACTS, our tuition management and financial aid system. FACTS allows families to manage tuition payments, apply for aid, and stay organized throughout the school year.

2. Attend New Family Orientation

Parents and guardians are required to attend an orientation for new families. This session provides an introduction to the Benedict’s experience, expectations, and how to best support your student’s journey.

3. Attend Summer Phase

Every student begins the Benedict’s experience in July with Summer Phase — the official start of our 11-month school year. Summer Phase is designed to build community, develop leadership, and set the tone for success at The Hive.

• Graduation requirements and financial responsibilities

• The phases of the 11-month school year

• The Freshman Year experience, including Overnight Week and the Backpacking Project (The Trail)

• The Group System, where students lead and take responsibility for one another

• The Honor Code and the shared commitment to cooperation, discipline, and good order
