The Advancement Office and the Alumni Association sponsor many events throughout the year to bring alumni together. Below is a listing of some upcoming events and information:

St. Benedict's unveiled its new and improved spirit store last month.

The Gray Bee store allows you to select from a number of different brands – Adidas, Under Armour, etc. – and add your favorite logos. Aside from your Gray Bee clothing needs, you can pick decals, magnets and backpacks. The store even has baby clothes, along with jewelry and much more.

Three alumni will be inducted into the Newark Athletic Hall of Fame: William Jamieson ’62, Vincent Almeida ’95 and Ryan Sherman ’05. The ceremony will take place on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the Best Western Robert Treat Hotel in Newark. For more information, please email Candace Bradsher at Congratulations honorees!

Open House schedule for the Fall. Director of Admissions Mario Gallo is looking for interested alumni to conduct interviews for this year's Open House schedule on select Saturdays for the next three months (Oct. 12, Nov. 9, Dec. 14). All three will run from 9:30 a.m. until 12 noon. Please email or call Mario Gallo at 973-792-5719 or Doris Lamourt at 973-792-5744 to get involved.

Alumni should have received their Summer Edition of St. Benedict’s Magazine. Among the stories in the latest issue is the experiences of students and faculty on a Spring Phase course and civil rights road trip through the American South. Read an online extra story on the trip from two alums, Greg Thornton ’67 and Darius Stewart ’00, who hosted the traveling Bees.

Gilbert Gaul ’69, a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, has been getting rave reviews from his latest and fourth book, The Geography of Risk: Epic Storms, Rising Seas and the Cost of America's Coasts. After Hurricane Sandy, Gil spent four years researching the development of the modern coast and the increased threats posed by climate change, sea level rise and larger, more powerful storms — nearly $800 billion in damage in the last two decades alone.
