Alumni come home to The Hive — and to each other — for first Reunion Weekend

Even a reunion takes on heightened meaning at The Hive. More than 100 alumni, representing classes from the 1960s to 2024, participated in the first large-scale Alumni Reunion Weekend, October 23-25. Over the course of the three-day weekend, alumni did much more than reminisce. They showed up for the community and for present-day Gray Bees with the understanding that reunion is as much about the kids who are here now, and the traditions lived in real time.

Alums sat (and swayed) with their Group at a high-spirited Convocation. They participated in a student-led session led by the Fr. Mark Payne Institute, visited with the monks, dropped in on science labs, built sets with the Drama Guild and cheered Gray Bee varsity soccer to a 6-0 victory over East Side in the quarterfinals of the Essex County Tournament. Gray Bees made new memories at an alumni gathering held at Adega and flexed their competitive spirit at the inaugural Shanley Ballers Tournament and Alumni Soccer Game.

The sense of connection at Alumni Reunion Weekend was palpable. As Michael Fazio H’25, P’26, Chief Advancement Officer, reflected, “Seeing Gray Bee alums be incredibly present for the kids is a testament to the sense of ownership alumni have in the place. We’re so grateful to everyone who helped make this weekend a huge success.”
