TWO ST. BENEDICT’S STUDENTS LAUDED AT NEWARK HIGH SCHOOLS WRITING CONTEST

St. Benedict’s took home a pair of honors at the 10th Annual Newark High Schools Writing Contest, which is sponsored jointly by SBP and the MFA program at Rutgers University Newark.

The Hive’s Oliver De Leon placed third in Non-Fiction Essay category for his piece entitled "Passenger." Terrance Parks also placed third, but for his entry in the Fiction portion of the contest called, "Requiem for Dreams and Fantasies."

DeLeon and Parks were recognized, along with the rest of the contest winners, during a reception in their honor last Tuesday (May 1) at the Robeson Gallery on the campus of Rutgers Newark.
