Fr. Edwin Profiled on GMA3
Reverend makes a difference in New Jersey:
Fr. Edwin was featured on ABC’s GMA3, marking his 50th anniversary as Headmaster of The Hive. The outspoken Benedictine monk and priest was just 26 when the school re-opened after a short hiatus.
Positively Black
St. Benedict’s continued partnership with the Kushner Yeshiva High School in Livingston continues to draw attention – this time being featured on NBC New York's weekly segment "Positively Black." St. Benedict's and Kushner have come together to discuss racism and antisemitism since 2019 during their School Swap program. The students find a mutual understanding through their differences, and first made headlines on CBS’ local New York news two years ago.
The Trail in The New York Times
Every year, first year students participate in The Backpacking Project, a five-day, 55-mile hike along the Appalachian Trail, designed to teach students that by relying on each other, they can do hard, worthwhile things. The New York Times followed the Boys Prep Division on The Trail in May 2021, reporting on Benedict’s rite-of-passage in the midst of COVID-19.
Stay Together is a short documentary on The Trail, produced by the Appalachian Conservancy. Watch!
